I am Etsuji Obu, recently appointed as director of the Operating Experience Analysis Division.

The Operating Experience Analysis Division performs the role of furnishing "value added information" by gathering, analyzing, and utilizing operation and maintenance information. The nuclear power industry uses the information concerning trouble that has occurred at both the domestic and overseas nuclear power stations and other nuclear-related facilities.Naturally, the analysis results information then leads to improved nuclear safety and reliability.Furthermore, we also advance promotion and distribution activities for the analysis and evaluation of maintenance information and root cause analysis (RCA) as a form of cooperation and support for the voluntary safety activities conducted by the electric utilities.

With the cooperation of JANTI members, the Operating Experience Analysis Division is working toward strengthening and enhancing its information gathering, analysis, and assessment functions in accordance with the FY 2008 business plan and striving to continuously verify the current state of activities and make improvements on them.

myself shall make use of the experience I gained as a plant manufacturer in design, export, business planning, etc. as well as the experience of having engaged in research and development business including the handling of post-irradiated fuel and reactor structural materials.I have worked with vigor and determination while always bearing in mind the objective of establishing this organization.
