Description of the Division’s activities
|
|
| The Division takes over and enhances activities relating to information gathering, analysis and utilization, previously undertaken by the Nuclear Information Center, within the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry. It uses the results of information analysis to issue recommendations, and undertakes activities with emphasis on applying obtained information to operation management and facility maintenance.The Division also extends cooperation / support for operators' voluntary activities for quality assurance, and promotes the use of RCA (Root Cause Analysis). |

Gathering and conveying information |
 |
| |
Gathering operation experiences at domestic and overseas nuclear facilities (nuclear power plants and Japan Nuclear Fuel LTD,'s fuel cycle facilities), compiling the data into a database, and swiftly conveying data to operators. |

Analyzing and assessing information |
| |
Analyzing and assessing domestic and overseas operation experiences to help prevent accidents / failures or their recurrence, and issuing written recommendations based on analysis results. |
|
Utilizing information |
| |
Operating experiences at nuclear facilities are made available to the public or shared among operators via NUCIA. |
|
Promoting international partnership |
| |
Promoting international exchange as the member of INPO and WANO in the areas of nuclear energy information, technologies and human resources. |
|
