Safety information exchange session

At the safety information exchange session, we asked ”Mr. Saitou, Assistant Manager, General Affairs Sec., General Affairs Dept., Tokyo Factory, Fuji Electric Systems Co., Ltd. and Mr. Okamoto, Quality Management Office, the same company” to give an in-depth explanation about the good practices cited by the peer review of the regarding “Utilization of Original Report Sheet Suggested through ‘Hiyari-Hatto’ (Near Accident) Proposals” and “On-line and Unified Trouble Information in QICS at the Occurrence of Troubles and Immediate Response.”

The main information and opinions exchanged were:

-
I was surprised that up to about 700 Hiyari-Hatto were reported annually in the factories and plants with a total of about 4,000 employees. Could you tell me how to make efforts to obtain such great number of the incidents reported?
-
I think the number of Hiyari-Hatto greatly depends on leaders’ daily efforts in workplaces. In particular, field managers’ cooperation will contribute to more serious incidents reported.
-
Is information in QICS system available for any of employees?
-

Yes, the information is available for all the staff. Information highly demanded by customers, for instance, information on fabrication process would be accessible from the customers in the future.

-
Do you have in-house rules on operation of this system? Besides, Did you have in-house rules for complaints before the introduction of the system?
-
It is explicitly defined that information on serious accidents shall be controlled with this system under office regulations. Response to complaints was regularized before the adoption of the system. The use of Web functions in this system is helpful for immediate response to them.”
