About 75 persons, including the employees of the Genkai Nuclear Power Station and cooperating companies, attended the Safety Presentation.
At the beginning of the Presentation, Mr. Higuchi, General Manager of Genkai Nuclear Power Station, gave an address and said, "Using this presentation, I would like to foster a new viewpoint on the promoting of safety culture that takes place on-site every day and make use of that viewpoint in the future."
After the address, Mr. Tanaka, General Manager of NSnet, introduced NSnet activities, and this was followed by a lecture entitled "GE Integrity" delivered by Ms. Murakami, Board of Director, Advisor, General Electric Japan, Ltd.
The lecture started with an introduction of GE Integrity System applicable globally to all GE Businesses and employees. Then, the lecture discussed on how it best ran with local circumstances and culture. Some examples of Integrity Cases experienced in Japan were introduced at the lecture. "GE has paid and will be paying tremendous effort, expenses, hours for the Integrity Culture", Murakami-san continued, and concluded "Commitment to the Integrity by the Top Management as the highest priority is most important and continuous Messages on the Integrity Value by the Top Management must be received by the employees".

At the safety information exchange session, we asked Mr. Saito, Deputy Chief, General Affairs Div., General Affairs Dep., Tokyo Systems Factory, Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. to give an in-depth explanation about the good practices cited by the peer review of the Tokyo Systems Factory, Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. regarding "Utilizing Reporting Sheets Devised for Hiyari-hatto Proposal Activities".

Disseminating safety consciousness can't be done quickly, therefore, it is considered important to continue sending out the message and to create an environment that can gain the cooperation of employees. |

The burden of work has increased recently and it is felt it is important to have an awareness that "what is important is taking care of issues now rather than regretting them after something serious has happened." |
