1. Reviewed Establishment (location)

Tokyo Site (Nuclear Power & Radiation Systems Division and Tokyo Systems Factory), Fuji Electric Co., Ltd., located in Hino-shi, Tokyo.

2. Overview of the establishment and targets of review

Since it started developing nuclear power in 1956, Fuji Electric Co., Ltd., as a main contractor for Tokai Nuclear Power Station, Japan Atomic Power Co, which is Japan's first nuclear power station, has been designing, manufacturing, and installing major equipment, including the reactor itself, and continued to address decommissioning based on its maintenance experience. In addition, taking advantage of its experience with the Tokai reactor, it has been developing new types of reactors and engaging in the area of nuclear fuel cycle. On the other hand, in the business of radiation detectors and instruments, it has long history that goes back before the world war Ⅱ. Based on its technology, it has been developing radiation monitoring systems since the early stage of nuclear power development. It has delivered such systems to not only all domestic nuclear power stations but also reprocessing and research facilities. Recently, it has developed electronic dosimeters and delivered new personal exposure dose control systems combining dosimeters with computers. Among these operations, Tokyo Site designs and manufactures radiation monitoring systems. As a "knowledge-intensive production base," Tokyo Systems Factory unifies production systems for each division, thereby establishing optimal production systems. Subjected to this review were safety promotion activities in connection with radiation systems of the Nuclear business at Tokyo Site.
