On March 13, 2001, the 16th Safety Caravan was held at Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Inc.'s Shika Nuclear Power Station, located in Shika-machi, Hakui-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture.


Safety presentation

Approximately 110 people attended the Safety Lectures, including staff of the Shika Nuclear Power Station and the corporating companies. The General Manager of the Station, opened the lecture with his greetings "We hope that safety awareness is heightened through this Safety Caravan event."

Following introductions of NSnet activities, a lecturer from the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute's Tokai Research Establishment, gave a lecture titled "Protection activities at the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute's Tokai Research Establishment."
The lecturer introduced in concrete detail safety and protection activities adopted at the Tokai Research Establishment such as "Organization and system of protection activities," "Summary of activities in the JCO critical accident," and "Summary of the Tokai Noa Agreement."

Discussion session

In the discussion session, an exclusive website for the members was introduced by Nsnet. The Shika Nuclear Power Station introduced its safety activities such as "Safety culture and moral education" and the "Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Inc.'s Nuclear Power Division action declaration." Following that, there was an exchange of opinions regarding safety promotion activities.
