On March 6, 2001, the 15th Safety Caravan was held at Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc.'s Shimane Nuclear Power Station, located in Kashima-cho, Yatsuka-gun, Shimane Prefecture.

Approximately 120 people attended the safety preseantation, including the Shimane Nuclear Power Station's staff and employees from cooperating companies.

Following introductions of the NSnet activities, a lecturer from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., gave a lecture titled "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' safety and quality assurance activitiesFensuring error-free work."

The lecturer introduced efforts to improve communication such as "'Why not? activities' through Meister Patrol," "Use of 'Question Sheet' activities," and "Strategic Training Map" for the prevention of human error. He also talked about detailed examples of safety and quality assurance activities now being carried out by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Discussion session

In the discussion session, an exclusive website for the members was introduced by Nsnet. The Shimane Nuclear Power Station introduced its safety activities such as its human factor and moral education and the training equipment used to allow trainees to experience the abnormal phenomena that can occur in power generating facilities. Following that, there was an exchange of opinions regarding safety promotion activities.
