4th Safety Caravan was held on August 11, 2000 at the Hitachi Zosen Corporation, Ariake Works.

The safety presentation

The safety presentation was attended by approximately 30 employeers of Hitachi Zosen Diesel and Engineering. Following an introduction to the activities of NSnet, The lecturer of the Kansai Electric Power Co., gave a presentation entitled "Social safety in the Kansai Electric Nuclear Power Division."

His presentation provided an easy-to-understand explanation of the subject interspersed with examples, including those illustrating the necessity for social-safety measures in the nuclear power industry and ethical checkpoints for engineers.

In the discussion session following the safety presentation, NSnet introduced its web site for members and safety training materials. Discussions were then held on TPM* activities, and training and education with members and the division manager.
