The Plant Technical Support Division extends support for fostering / maintaining engineers, and optimizing the maintenance activities of nuclear power plants.
In order to support human resource development of nuclear power plants, the Division offers qualification to shift managers, and prepares for the introduction of private-sector qualification system for maintenance skills.
In accordance with the Rules for Shift Managers at NPPs (JEAC4804), the Division will run the shift managers qualification program after revising the rules on the establishment and operation of commercial nuclear power plants.
In preparation for the introduction of a private-sector qualification system for maintenance skills, the Division works on setting the private-sector guideline that stipulates the need for objective assessment and qualification of the skills of plant workers engaging in maintenance duties, and undertaking other preparatory work including the compilation of tests for assessing their skills.
The Division analyzes and summarizes maintenance-related information, provides benchmark data to on-site engineering specialists, and accumulates expert knowledge, such as know-how generated through networking activities, in order to support the optimization of maintenance operations.
The Division gathers / sorts technological foundation data concerning the maintenance activities of nuclear power plants to manage it as the common technological foundation to be shared among electric utilities, and identifies various benchmark information to be provided to the frontline of maintenance operations.
