Q-1 Was the Fukushima Accident caused by the tsunami or was it a case of a nuclear reactor accident?

A: In the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, the earthquake caused the loss of off-site power, and the subsequent tsunami made the emergency DG dysfunctional, resulting in a station blackout.DC power was also lost at Unit 1 and Unit 2.These factors made it impossible to cool down the reactors, and made the situation more severe.
Until the power system lost its functionality in the tsunami, the power station’s safety system was appropriately cooling down the reactors. This shows that the Fukushima Accident was caused by the tsunami, rather than an accident of reactors themselves.
